Student Design Competitions

IMS2011 will see a significant expansion in opportunities for students to actively participate through design and paper competitions. These competitions provide students an opportunity to exercise their design skills and see how they compare with other students from around the world. This year the competitions will take the form of six hardware design competitions and two paper-based design competitions listed below. One or more of the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society’s technical committees sponsors and judges each competition. The specific rules and associated deadlines for each competition can be under the corresponding links.

Competition Title TC Contact
SDC1 Power Amplifier MTT-5 Kiki Ikossi
SDC2 ASH Receiver MTT-2/16 Stefan Zorn
SDC3 Low-Noise Amplifier MTT-6/14/16/20 Roger Kaul
SDC4 Packaged Triplexer MTT-12/8 Bob Jackson
SDC5 Wideband Balun MTT-17 Robert Caverly
SDC6 Software Defined Radio MTT-9 Jeffrey Pawlan
SDC7 Optical-to-Microwave Converter MTT-3 Yifei Li
