The following information will assist you in preparing your presentation at IMS2011:
- Regular Session Oral Presentation (Slides)
An extremely important WARNING to authors about ITAR and publication clearances (PDF).
Presentation materials must be provided ahead of time so they will be ready at the beginning of the session. A document (PDF) describing the procedure and requirements is available via this link.
Do not plan to load your presentation at the beginning of the session or just before you are scheduled to speak. Unless you have a special need and have made arrangements beforehand, you must use the computer provided.
Slides must be in electronic form; Powerpoint or PDF files are acceptable. Transparent slides, either viewgraphs or 35mm, are no longer used at the IMS. Technical paper presentation materials are not published or archived, so they need not be Xplore compliant.
Please see this article by Joseph White regarding IMS presentations, and powerpoint guidelines for preparing slides. These are especially important if you have never made an IMS presentation.
- Interactive Forum (Posters)
Please remember that papers assigned to the Interactive Forum require a written manuscript according to the same rules and deadlines as regular-session papers. The presentation is in poster format, however. For information on the poster presentations, use the links below.
- Workshop Presentations (Slides)
An extremely important WARNING to authors about ITAR and publication clearances (PDF).
Withdrawal of accepted workshops after the due date may result in the author being held liable for all costs should the workshop notes need to be redacted.
- Please follow the Guidelines for Workshop Organizers and Speakers.
- The requirements for presentation materials for workshops and tutorials are slightly different from those for regular technical sessions. The use of a workshop template is required. See Workshop slides template.
- Since no archived paper accompanies the workshops, copies of workshop slides are made available to attendees both in hard-copy and electronic format. These workshop notes must be submitted in PDF form and must be uploaded at the submission website for workshops (not the same as the site for regular papers) by the date listed at the top of the page.
Two files are needed:
- A file in full color, 1 slide per page, for the CD.
- A monochrome file, two slides per page, for the printed notes.
Although IEEE Xplore compatibility is not essential, use of the IEEE PDF site will guarantee a good-quality PDF.
If you wish to generate the PDF yourself using Distiller, please see this document and use the Distiller job-options files located here. Do not use Acrobat PDF Writer. If you generate the PDF yourself, use the IEEE PDF eXpress site to check your PDF for Xplore compliance.
Workshop registration fees are waived for presenters who upload their notes by the March 18 deadline and for organizers who meet all deadlines.
