Call for Proposals: Workshops

Invitation to Submit Proposals for Workshops: Invitation to Submit Proposals for Workshops: IMS workshops represent a unique forum for the exchange of ideas and information, bringing together technical experts in an interactive setting. There are two types of Workshops:

  1. Participatory Workshops, in which a timely topic of high interest is discussed in a session that is structured and moderated by the organizer so that the audience is actively engaged, resulting in a high level of interaction between the speakers and the attendees.
  2. Educational Workshops, in which a single coherent theme in the MTT-S domain is reviewed by selected experts, including, if appropriate, some tutorial or review material to assist the attendees without current knowledge of the subject.
Organizers interested in a proposing a half-day or full-day program that presents comprehensive instructional content guided by a set of defined learning objectives, with the opportunity for laboratory demonstrations, should consider proposing a Short Course.
Workshops are solicited from all of the technical areas within MTT-S and are encouraged from new subject areas. These new areas include not only emerging topics such as terahertz technology, carbon-based electronics, green microwave technologies, etc., but also topics that may be outside the usual scope of the IMS such as industrial and scientific applications of microwaves, vacuum electronics, and others.

Please be aware that the Workshop environment is not a venue to promote commercial products.

Participatory Workshops and Educational Workshops will be held on Sunday, Monday, and Friday of Microwave Week 2011. In addition to IMS2011, the RFIC Symposium (www.rfic2011.org) and the ARFTG Conference (www.arftg.org) will also sponsor or co-sponsor Workshops during Microwave Week.

If interested in organizing a workshop, please see the detailed Workshop Proposal Submission Instructions.
