Call for Proposals: Panel and Rump Sessions
Invitation to Submit proposals for Panel and Rump Sessions: The 2011 IMS Technical Program Committee is soliciting proposals for panel and rump sessions. Topics in the RF/microwave arena which are particularly timely or controversial are encouraged, as are topics which are particularly relevant to the symposium's Baltimore/Washington area venue.
Panel Sessions: Panel Sessions are approximately one-hour sessions, typically held during lunchtime Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. Examples of Panel Sessions at previous symposia include:
  • System-On-Chip vs. System-On-Package for Emerging 3D Microsystems
  • Silicon at THz Frequencies: A Reality or a Dream?
  • A Return to the Classic Heterodyne Architecture for Integrated Transceivers?
Rump Sessions: Rump Sessions are typically several hours and are typically held Tuesday evening. Examples of Rump Sessions at previous symposia include:
  • Metamaterials: A Rich Opportunity for Discovery or Over-Hyped Gravy Train?
  • The Discovery of Gravity Waves Amidst the Noise
Proposal Submission Process: Please submit proposals via e-mail to Dr. Mark Rosker and Dr. Sanjay Raman by September 17 2010. Proposals should include:
  • Panel or Rump Session's title
  • a brief discussion of the topic
  • the name of the panel's organizer and moderator
  • a list of potential panelists
